Jack, a country gentleman with a mysterious past, leads a double life thanks to his invented playboy brother "Ernest." In London, he seeks to marry the captivating Gwendolen, but her status-obsessed mother, Lady Bracknell, throws a wrench in his plans due to his unknown origin. Back in the countryside, Jack introduces his ward Cecily to the concept of the charming "Ernest," unknowingly planting a seed of romantic yearning. When Jack's friend Algernon arrives disguised as Ernest, chaos explodes as both men find themselves entangled with the women they desire. A chance encounter with a forgotten handbag and a misplaced diary hold the key to unraveling Jack's past and potentially changing his romantic destiny.
