A Christmas Carol, one of my favorite stories, both for its treatment of re-establishing Christmas traditions and for its use of Christian Allegory has been a mainstay in modern society. The story has been adapted several times for film, stage opera, and the book has never been out of print since it first appeared in December 1847. Its timeless message: the trans-formation of Ebenezer Scrooge from a selfish miserly London based businessman into a benevolent sociable individual who learns to understand how to be kind and loving is central to the true meaning of Christmas and has always touched my heart. May each of us not only be entertained. By this beautiful story of redemption and hope but look deeper into ourselves and see how our own past and future can change our present. May we each realize that the choices we have made can be overcome and that living each day of the present to our fullest will bring true happiness. Merry Christmas, David Morgan
