David Campbell

David Campbell is a composer living in SLC, UT. His concert works have been performed nationally, and internationally. David holds degrees in vocal performance from Southern Utah University, and composition and theory from Western Washington University. He continued graduate studies in composition and theory at Stony Brook University, where he studied with Sheila Silver. David has stayed active as a composer since graduation, and concentrates mostly on chamber, vocal, and operatic music. David is a founding member of the SLC-based non profit chamber opera company, Opera Contempo, where he served as Composer-in-Residence for 3 years. He is also a board member of Ogden based NEXT ensemble, and leads the NEXT Ensemble composers collective. David has a passion for media and film music, and has collected a vast array of virtual instruments that he uses for production music projects of all kinds including some of the music in tonight's production.
